How to extract certain pages from a PDF
Thumbnails are the fastest way when you know the page by how it looks: the signature page, the chart, the invoice with the logo. Ranges are faster when you know the numbers, like pages 45 to 60 of a manual.
You can mix both. Type a range, then click extra thumbnails to add single pages. The pages keep their original order in the new file. To change that order afterward, open the result in Rearrange PDF Pages.
Choose separate files when each page goes to a different place, such as individual invoices from a monthly batch. Choose one PDF when the pages belong together as a new, shorter document.
Extract, split or delete?
The three tools overlap, so pick by what you want to end up with:
- A few pages out of many: extract them with the page extraction tool.

On a Mac, open the PDF in Preview and show thumbnails with View > Thumbnails. Select the pages you want and drag them out of the sidebar onto the desktop to save them as a new PDF. You can also print and choose Save as PDF with a page range.
On Windows, open the PDF in Edge or Chrome, press Ctrl+P, choose "Microsoft Print to PDF" or "Save as PDF" and enter the pages under custom pages. Printing rebuilds the pages, so links and form fields may not survive.
Combine extracted pages with other files

Does extracting pages keep quality and links?
Yes. The extract pages tool copies the pages as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed.
Links that point outside the document, like web addresses, keep working. Links that jump to other pages inside the original may stop working if their target page was not extracted, since that page no longer exists in the new file.
If the original is password-protected, unlock it first with Unlock PDF. The thumbnails cannot load while the file is encrypted.
